Enhancing the Brilliance of this Engagement Ring through Resizing and Prong Reshaping
Sometimes, there isn’t anything “wrong” with someone’s precious jewelry piece, rather, they’d just like to enhance its brilliance. In this case, the owner of this beautiful 3.5-carat diamond engagement ring wanted to reshape its prongs to their liking. It just so happened that they also needed a ring resizing down to which they requested as well to their convenience.
Not only was the work of our Master Jewelers traceless, but it also left the ring cleaner and shinier than when it came in! If you would like to see the entire process of this intriguing restoration, you can watch the video featured below.
The Details of this Ring Repair
For this diamond ring restoration, we had to:
- Perform a free professional evaluation after noting the repair requests of the customer
- Note that although we are an online jewelry and watch repair company, we only provide evaluations when our skilled craftsmen can physically assess them in person at our secure facility
- Remove the round brilliant-cut diamond gemstone from its setting to safely continue the repair
- Resize the 14kt gold band down from size 5.5 to 4.75
- Reset the diamond gemstone back into its setting, making sure its properly secure
- Reshape the metal prongs from round to claw-shaped
- Provide a complimentary clean and polish with a rhodium finish
